Sketchup import materials are controlled by assigning materials to layers.

Still your best solution.

The best you can do is: Create a new "Entourage" family and import that "Ship", then change the "materials" like you want.

I've just sent you an email, let me know if it goes thru.  The files to large to post to RevitCity and at 915 ft in length the "Enchantment of the sea" is going to be a very large "block" I did manage to ZIP the file down to about 10MB but not sure if it will get thru my email servor or not.  If it doesn't I'll see what else i might be able to do to help.

That's a huge family but since it is probably the only one you have in the project and if you put it in a seperate workset that is normally off, it would not hurt performance.

Yeah, thats no joke, but a lot its surprising not that bad to render, but then again, i'm assuming there will be far more included in the design it was needed for..... i.e. a port of call some where.  At 916ft its set at its original length. But as of 2005 the vesel it was modeled after is actually 990 ft. but that can easily be changed in the Family by scaling it up to 990 ft. If you want it to be accurate.
