I am new to revit, but i understand that to make a wall based element you need to align the element with the wall. The element i have is curved and has no flat sides (though it may look like it) to easily attach it to the wall. How can this be done so that it always sits flush with the wall when loaded into a project?

If it is a wall based family, then it will always align with the wall as it was set in the family.

If the family is not a wall-based family but is unhosted, look in the plan view of the family and make sure the family geometry is drawn along one of the "is origin" reference planes. If not, move the geometry to align with one of these ref planes and reload. Then you'll be able to place it right at the wall surface.
