I am working on a model which has a small building located within a site. The view area is mostly taken up with a .dwg file in the back ground. The only way I seem to 'temporarly' move the pivot point is to zoom far out within 3d view of the model, I can select a roof or wall of the small building and if I spin the compass the pivot point will move to the centre of this element and thus the whole model will rotate about this point. This would be how I would move the pivot point. However I am very far out and want to spin this model about this point close up. However when I start to zoom in there is a point were the pivot point resorts back to the centre of the main model. As usual with Revit each little simple problem can take dayyysss to work out! Anybody come across this before?

Imported DWG files can cause problems like this.   Do you really need it on?  Did you put it in a seperate workset so it is easily turned on and OFF?  Do you know how to use a scope box?

Should I have just linked the drawing rather than importing it? I will try a scope box - Thanks

I should not have limited it to imported.... it is all DWG files that are too large.  I recommend that you always put imports and links in seperate worksets so they can easily be controlled.

BTW - You can do the worksets anytime.
