I am trying to set up a template for my office and there are a couple AutoCAD purists that are learning Revit.  I am trying to make the transition as easy as possible for them by creating black backgrounds for the drafting views.  Is there a way to invert the background for some views without changing it in the whole project?  and maybe even save that as a view type (or template...not completely sure the difference)

If you go to options and invert background it will only change it on the computers that you do that to and will have no effect on the project.  We have people in the office that prefer the black background and I prefer the white so they just change their options.  No need to do it by view

As teahoe5 has already answered the question, I'll just add my 2 cents. I've heard this recommended by several different instructors, and I've noticed it my office as well. When it comes to switching from ACAD to Revit it seems to work out better if you don't change the background, it seems to help with people not trying to apply their ACAD tools and knowledge to Revit, which in turn helps with the shift. If they try to force Revit to behave like ACAD, they are going to have problems.

Now, if you just prefer the dark background that's something different entirely.

Most Revit users now prefer white.

If you are wanting to do this because of imported CAD - shame on you << NOT REALLY....

Remember, you can invert CAD when imported so that it will show up in our white world.
