I'm trying to learn how to create and edit families better and I'm having problems with this door. I haven't found an overhead door with glass portals that is very editable, so I decided to start there.
1) I cut the door with a void extrusion, dimensioned the extrusion, and then added the glass to fit to that void. I can't get the glass to flex very well with the void.
2) I can't get the "Glass Height" to work correctly. It keeps moving the reference plane on the bottom, instead of the top reference plane.
3) When I insert the door into a wall with a thickness >8", the glass doesn't stay within the void frame.
Again, I'm new to creating families and probably didn't take the right approach, but I appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks in advance.

As a beginner, I suggest you download the "Families guide" from the autodesk website and thoroughly absorb that. There is so much information there that it is a must read.
For best modeling, always add reference planes first then model components.
There are very good clopay OH doors with lites in the downloads area. Just search overhead.
