HI All,

I have this problem that I have had in the past and have fixed. But this time it is just not working.

So I have a wall schedule with a linked model wall types in it.

I have 2 columns

1. Type Mark

2. Description

I have made all the walls the same wall type within each linked model and the parent mode, with the exact same description.  But for some reason the type mark shows up but the description shows up blank.

Anyone know what I can do to make the descriptions show on the parent.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have checked the help and looked for other forum topics but nothing.

So some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If your Desctiption parameter is an instance parameter, make sure "Itemize every instance" is checked in your schedule properties. Instance parameters won't populate when the schedule is set to show only one line per type.

The type is not an instance parameter.

You are obviously sorting by mark.  I can't remember but even though the wall are the same type, Revit may include something to dentote they are in different models.  Sort by type and see what happens.

BTW - You could CM the walls and turn the linked walls off.

Sorry for the late response. I just remembered I had this thread in here.

So I am back on that problem I had with the walls not showing.

I tried by checking the instance parameter off and it showed all the instances of the wall. It just seems when I group them there is a conflict and it doesn't show. Even though I typed it exactly how it is in the other file.

The other walls that aren't a duplicate in the other file are showing up properly. I don't understand why the descriptions are blanked out if they are the same.
