was wondering how some people might handle this:

existing building modelled with owsj Than the joist needs to be cut in half and reinforced to suit new bearing location.

we would like to show half to be demolashed and half existing with phasing. but if you split the joist the it becomes two shorter joist.

anyone have suggestion how this might be done
