I ma using Revit 2013.

I am trying to create a high resolution image of a house with landscaping to use on a brochure.

I set render dialog box to print 600dpi. My computer would not do anything. I reduced the dpi to 300 and it rendered the image but would not allow me to export it or save it to project. I then rendered the image at 150 dpi and it allowed me to save and export it. !!!!!

What is going on?

In a previous version of Revit i was able to render at 600dpi no problems.

I have this same issue with hi res renderings and it's my machines that is getting old. I have to keep an eye on the "uncompressed image size" and make sure its stays below 50 MB. Sorry to say it, but when you upgrade software, you'll eventually need to upgrade your machine.

Maybe memory related.  See link below (although it isn't very informative)

http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Revit/enu/2013/Help/00001-Revit_He0/1468-Document1468/2034-Renderin2034/2149-Troubles2149/2152-Not_Enou2152

FYI, in my opinion, 1333Mhz - 16Gb RAM is the new "normal" for a Revit computer.

You might be able to reallocate your paging file in Windows and set it to something higher.
