Hi, I want to create a table for the floor area totals in my model using a schedule. The project is a site master plan and I've used families for most of the buildings (with floors within) and I had to model more complex forms using 'model in-place'. For example I have two 'office' buildings but I've used a family for one and 'model in-place' for the other. What is the easiest way to be able to calculate the total 'office' floor area in a schedule table? How can I get both these 'office' buildings, modelled in different ways, counted together? I hope my explanation was clear enough, thanks.

You say you "...used families for most of the buildings (with floors within)..." - really?  How did you do that?  You can't create floors in families and you can't create building "families".  So can you elaborate on your question using Revit terms?

Hi, I was in a bit of a rush when writing the question, without having Revit infront of me. What I meant was that I created families as simple massing representing buildings. I've created levels. I guess from here I should create Mass Floors, then create Areas and Area Plans. Then create Area Schedules. Think I've got it now. Thanks anyway.
