"Tag all not tagged" is not working. No tags appear in this dialog box although all necessary room, door, wall, and other tags have been loaded (>settings>annotations>loaded tags). How do I go about investigating and solving this problem?

"Tag all not tagged" does not work with Room tags, Area tags, and Wall tags.
You will have to place them one by one until Revit will allow to be placed automatically.

i'm not clear on that....
why?? there's nothing that I can alter (parameter, category)...i have to simply wait until REVIT is ready?

I'm just a Revit user and don't work for Autodesk, so I can't tell you why.
I suspect it is harder to program as there are more variables when it comes to placing these types of tags. Room tags for example can't exist until the room is defined. Where do you tag the wall when it is 300 feet long and jogging all over the place?
For now all I can say is that's the way it is. Maybe it will improve in release 9.0, but don't hold your breath !!!!
