I just downloaded the student version of Revit Architecture 2013 to my new lap top.  The program runs very slowly, pausing several seconds each time I try to rotate the model.  My machine has 6 GB of memory, an i3 processor, running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit.  It should have the ability to easily run Revit.  Any ideas what could be causing the problem?

Thanks.

Well it's not the best but it's a decent machine, what's the file size of your model?

The file size is about 15MB.  But the same thing happens with the sample architecture project that comes pre-loaded with Revit.  It's only 6.6 MB.

What is the laptop make and model?

Could be the graphics hardware is struggling a bit.

Couldn't find that exact model online but there's some NP300 E5A all having GeForce (with Optimus) or Radeon GPUs.

Could be you need to enable the dedicated graphics via a BIOS setting or by running a graphics driver utility - some lappies allow you to constantly run onboard Intel shared graphics to save power and only enable the faster GPU when mains power is available or if you explicitly set it on.

Best of luck.
