I feel a bit foolish at the moment. I am struggling with a detail view I have created. Situation below.

I created a detail using drafting lines etc. Great! Now I want to place a callout on that detail to show an enlarged view of the detail I just created, so I can detail the condition more extensively at a larger scale. When I do this, my callout will create a blank view. It won't let me select and reference the same view either.

So, to elaborate on my condition. I have drawn Detail X. In Detail X I want to Detail Condition Y using the existing linework I have created in Detail X. How do I do that?

I know how to create details, etc from other views, especially plan views and the information carries over. Is there a reason why when I callout an area in a detail that I drew by hand, that I cannot see the linework in the view it creates? I am confused.

I am on Revit Architecture 2009. I hope I can get an answer soon . . bad timezone

Copy your original, change the scale in the copy, use reference other view to reference it.
