Righto, beginner teaching myself to make families. I have made an Inground Tank, I have read a tutorial which says you can use Symbolic lines to show the object how you want it to look in that view only (or parallel to the view), so I have drawn the outline of the tank on the ground reference plane.  I want to show only the outline of the tank on the ground in my project, however when I load the family (tank) into a project with a floor, the symbolic lines do not show up.  Is there a setting I am missing or anything else I am doing wrong?

I have tried the same thing but converted them to "Model Lines" and yes, they show up, but in 3D view as well (which i definitely don't want).  How do you get the symbolic lines to show up in plan view?  I would like them to be used to easily define the manhole access to the tanks (as the ground is obviously not see-through)

Use the visual settings of the line and check the coarse and medium detail boxes too. Maybe it is that.
