I feel like I'm doing this in a stupid way. Is there a way to get the area of a room without having to lay out area boundary to an entire floor. -joe

Rooms by their very nature in Revit have an area associated with them. Area tags are for reporting the BOMA, Gross or other user defined area methodolgy. To show the area of a room you can do so in a schedule, or if you want to display it in a room tag that can be done as well by using a room tag that displays the room area. I've included one of our room tags with area for you to use/disect. HTH Tom
