Hi Everyone,

I'm using Revit Arch 2012. I used the paint tool on a couple of surfaces on stair treads/risers and now when i try to use the Remove Paint tool nothing happens.  I can repaint the areas with the same material but then if i try to change the material set up for the tread in the stair properties, the painted areas stay the same.  Can anyone else confirm this or let me know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it back.  Thanks!

Good question.  I have never tried to paint a stair before but I just did and I also cannot remove the paint.  I tried to do it in a 3D, Section, Camera, Plan views and nothing seems to work.  May be a bug in 2013??  My suggestion would be to redraw the stair and use actual materials rather than painting.

This is a response that I recieved from Autodesk...

" This is a known issue and is loged with our development group for investigation. The painted surface will have to be "repainted" to the original material. The remove paint tool does not work on stair elements."

Thanks teafoe5.  The reason I was doing it was because the designer wanted a stone tread with an exposed metal plate on the

sides.  And painting the side was easier than trying to model the plate on both sides.
