Hi, I am slowly working my way through massing and building in revit. I have come to a stumbling block. I have a feeling I am missing one little small step. I have done this once before whilst messing about on revit however I can't remember what it is that I am missing!! v. Revit Architecture 2012 - Personal Learning Conceptual Project. I want to create a pattern curtain wall for my building. It has a simple facade (not curved or anything..). The steps so far:

  • Created mass block.
  • Selected on of the facade/surface
  • Clicked Divide Surface
  • In the properties dialogue - chose a pattern of liking.
  • Went to load family (under the insert tab)
  • Went to the curtains panel by pattern - (chose of liking)
  • Back onto the main mass - select the facade and under properties chose the pattern of liking glazed.
  • Save
  • Upload to project

  • Now in the project..
  • Choose the facade that I want to work with
  • Under the massing and site tab - choose add wall..
  • Choose Curtain wall (?) apply this.
  • Don't want the mass block to show - switch it off

Can't see the pattern - even when rendered?? I feel like I am missing a simple step out or have done a small mistake in my process. Would someone please guide on this. Thank you in advance

If you need to create "special" mass with "special" curtain wall pattern you have to do that in Conceptual mass and create the curtain panel like you want/need.

Then, when you load into project you don't have to apply "C.W. by face" in Massing and Site....
