Frequently, when I open a project, the project is uneditable. I can pan, zoom, and open views, but cannot select. Also, to close Revit, I must do so by ending the process from windows task manager. I'm currently using 2013, but the problem was also present in 2012. Usually a restart of Revit clears the problem for that session.
Have any of you experienced the same problem and have found a solution?

Are you opening Revit then the project or just double clicking on the file?

No suggestions then other than audit your file and make sure you have the latest Revit build. In addition - have you cleaned your system? Use something like 'CCleaner' to clean up your temp files. This is often a source of problems.
