I am trying to setup a formula in my Structural Steel Schedule that will let me multiply the length of the beam by the weight of the beam to get the total weight of the beam for take offs. If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated

The Weight parameter attached to structural members is unitless so when you try to multiply Length X Weight, revit gets confused. You'll simply have to add something into your formula to cancel out the units all together. Try this:
Cut Length / 1' * W
