Hi all, I am new to Revit and quickly falling in love! We are in the food service industry and sneezeguards are items we use all of the time. Those are the metal/glass casework you see over salad bars for example. I want to create a new family for a custom line. However, sometimes there is one panels, sometimes 3, and sometimes 7. I want to specify how many panels, have the family automatically create the posts and be able customize each panel size. Is there a way to do that? Right now we are modeling in place but that is tedious.

You need a parametric family that reacts to your needs. See the link and the download tab and you'll find an ebook that will help you with what you need. http://www.littledetailscount.com/index.php/categories/revit-families-components-3d-models

I will check that out, thanks. I was thinking about getting the lynda video series on families. Do you know if one is better than the other?

I had the same problem, and I ended up just not arraying the posts. While it's certainly possible to do, problems arise when the post spacing isn't equal. So, my families only have posts on the ends. Parameters control the positions of the posts (they are set back if it's for end, they are right on the edge for the rest) and the visibility of the end panels.
