Is there anyway you can create a ceiling so that its perimeter lines are defined by the room bounding/shape to which it serves (instead of the walls that enclose the room).

The reason I ask this is because i am wanting to put some ceilings in at an early stage of the project so that they appear within the sections. however it is possible that some rooms will change following end user meetings and design developement. Therefore it would be good if the ceiling changed to reflect any change to a room size/shape.

I know you can lock the ceilings to walls and therefore if you drag/move the wall the ceiling will follow but that doesnt help when the shape of the room changes and maybe new walls are added...

Does anyone know a way of doing this?

Cheers

Mark

Have you ever just pointed to the room to place your ceiling rather than sketching it?  Try it!

Yes, it does work for rooms where you just move the boundry to change size.  If you add walls to change shape, those are not picked up.  You got the best solution you can get.

yep you have reiterated the initial problem i explained....

does anyone know if there is anyway of doing this. I want the ceiling to replicate the shape of the room bounding perimeter so if that changes the ceiling is replicated (shape/size/location)... withought relying on walls..??

Cheers

Pointing to the room? How can I do that? Which tool for sketching is used? Please explain it a little bit more. I supose this could work for sketching floors too, that is what i have been asking for a long time ago.
