Hi. Anyone have any idea how to create this lighting fixture in Revit Architecture 2011? (See attached file).  I have tried looking for a model online, even just a similar light, but to no avail.  I need it for a church model.

Thanks in advance!

Been using Revit for 3 months now!

Use a revolve and voids to create that look.

I don't believe you can do it with revolves.  You might do part of it with a revolve at the "throat".  The wavy area might be done with a blend then a complementary blend void.  This kind of form is really tough to do in Revit.  You may be better off to make the shade in sketchup.

Tried the revolve and also the blend, but as you said, the curves are more complicated.  Can't get the curve of the "skirt" to come out without having to do voids, too.  Ok, will try with sketchup.  Thank you for your replies!

Hi Smallhands,

You could do 2 or more stages of sweeps and a top stage of a sweep. I guess you might get to a blend one stage below the top and do a revolve for the top most stage to get a parabolic curve at the top.

The sweep lets you use a series of reversing curves for a plan and a simple profile to sweep around the plan

I wouldn't rule Revit out.

See the attached images.
