I make a roof by extrusion and then draw three gable roofs (by estrusion) perpendicular to the first one. I want now to cut gable exceedings and join the roof, but cannot find how. I suppose i should draw roofs with other methods,??
I wanted to attach the file, but only the roofs (without any other elements loaded) is more than 3 megs!!
thanks in advance

Sounds like Roof by footprint would be better for achieving what your after. Attach a screenshot.
You can use the Roof join tool to attach different roof edges to intersecting roof faces...

here i send a screen shot.
I've already tried to create (one and both of them) by footprint, but without success.
I've also tried to use slope arrows in the principal roof to create a dormer using slice, but with no success.
NO idea how to go on....

I'm new to Revit; having got the program only a month ago. I ran into a similar situation last week, and this is what I did; I don't know if this is the most gracious method but it certainly worked:
In plan view, I created a new roof away from the principal roof by sketching lines , that aligned perpendicular to where I wanted the roofs to be added. Then I used the "join roof" command to connect the new roof to the principal roof, then cut the new roof back to where I wanted it.

"NO idea how to go on...." I've attached a sample that you can examine.

thats right.
i step forward.
anyway, to make it I had to draw it outside the principal roof, and then join it. anyway I cannot edit neither make an opening to make it as in the earlier screenshot (or the sample you sent).
if you check your model and try to edit it, it also doesn't match with 3d representation (see image).
any clue??
