Hi there,
I am working on our first revit project (a condo) where we have modelled the units as individual linked files into an overall building host file. Within those linked units we have made our bathrooms as wall-hosted families with the showers, toilets, casework, etc. inserted as their own families as well. One of our linked units is stacked on four floors. In the first floor all the families show up fine but in the three floors above that stack is missing the shower and toilet families. Strangely though the casework and sink families are showing. When I tab over the bathroom family the tub and toilet families do shop up briefly but aren't selectable. We've checked our VG settings and don't see any differences between the one unit link that is workign properly and the other three that aren't. Any ideas why this might be happening? All our other units that have several instances don't have this error.
We are modeling in Revit Architecture 2012.
Thanks!

So I ended up deleting all the units except the one that worked and then copying and pasting aligned to selected levels. This worked and the bathrooms now show up as they should. That said does anyone know why this was an issue to begin with? Despite "solving" theproblem it still bugs me that I don't know why it happened to begin with.
Thanks!

You say linked but you talk like groups.
When Revit can't place a hosted element that is in a group, it drops that element from the group in that instance.
