I'm a beginner at Revit, and finding the program to be quite non-user friendly.

I'm trying to draw a reference line in a model from the arctitect, but nothing happens.  I set my keyboard shortbut to use reference lines, but when i type the command nothing happens.  Is it a view range problem? visibility graphics?

The second questions I have pertains to hosting.  I am trying to copy lighting fixtures from one room to another and the program just won't allow it.  saying that the hosting element is lost, and no fixtures can be placed.  Is there a solution for this?

thank you in advance!

"Is it a view range problem? visibility graphics?" - I think it's a "Set Work Plane" issue...

"I am trying to copy lighting fixtures from one room to another..." - If your lights are "Ceiling Based" and you don't have any ceiling in the other room then you have that problem...

I've found out that copying lighting fixtures from one ceiling to another has problems.

Instead of using the copy command, try using the create simalar option.  That should work out better.

Kiddo's suggestion is the bast option.  You can copy in the same ceiling then pick the new element and pick new host but as you can see, that is not as easy.
