Hi there.  I am currently using Revit 2012 on Windows 7.

I have just discovered the use of a repeating detail and would like to utilise it where battens are shown in sections, etc.

I have a repeating detail which I have copied from an older job (I didn't set up the repeating detail), and I was wondering how you actually gain access to all of it's properties?

Is it something like a family? Where certain parameters have the option of being "Type" or "Instance" parameters? Where do you create it?

At the moment in the properties box, I am only able to modify simple things (see attached).

What I would like to be able to do is change the detail which it is repeating.  I cannot find the "Timber Stud :50 x 100mm" anywhere in the project browser, so I am a little confused as to how this works.

Any information would be helpful, as I have no prior knowledge of this detail type.  I have researched a little bit on revit city regarding it but I can't seem to find the information I am looking for.

A repeating detail is simply that... repeating details.  The detail is a seperate family.  The "repeating" properties are distance and angle. 

You should learn to use your HELP - it fully describes this.
