Hi

I was wondering if anyone knwos if there is possible to have a visability parameter for dimensions?

I have to make fabrication drawings for elements that i use alot in every project that i have given certain parameters.

I think there should be a way make the dimensions in the family editor and hava a visability parameter for if you want to show them or not because they are not shown on my details but i need them on the fabrication drawings

workaround would be appriciated

regards

Sigurjón

You can not get the dimensions to show that I know of.... but if done properly, they can be scheduled.

Workaround idea: in your families, select the reference planes for the dimensions you will want to show in your detail views.  Make sure they are either named references (Front, Back, etc.) or Strong References (meaning you will be able to apply dimensions to these parts of the family while in the project view). Then you can dimension your details in the project easily. I don't think you Rolling Eyeseally* want family dimensions to show up in projects.

If you have details you'll use in multiple projects, try saving them to your project template, or to a separate project file that you use to store details, and then you can just import the detail view into whatever projects need them. HTH.
