I just created a simple winodw family.
I don't understand it looks fine in the reference level within the family.
But once I placed it in the project, it only shows the top mullion, I had to delete the mullion to make the plan view look right. What's the reason of it?
See attached.

select top mullion,
in visibilty setting, uncheck plan/rcp,
then top mullion not shown on plan of project.
I have modify your family, check attachment.
this may solve your problem.

Revit has a strange nuance in families. They will be typically shown according to the plan view in the family. So if you move the view cut plane in the family, that can affect how the family is shown in the project. This may have been your problem.

What is the effect in the project of moving the cut plane in the plan view of a family?

Alf, I did not have time to respond before.
Here is a crafsman window taken off the RevitCITY site. On the left is the window as downloaded. On the right is the same window but with the cut plane moved up in the family and saved. As you can see, Revit does not work correctly in this instance.

Thank you. I see a change in the representation of the window in the family. But the question is, does that affect the representation in the project?

The first image IS THE PROJECT! Same in 3D but not in plan!

Sorry, I don't understand. To me, those images are plan views inside the family editor.

Alf,
There are 3 images there. The first on the left is a stacked project image with the 3D above the plan, and the views says PROJECT. There is no plan regions and the two windows show differently in plan. The other 2 images on the right are plan view of the families and the plan view properties showing that the cut plane is higher into the upper lite area.
3 images.....

Ah, OK, there are 3 images. I had not noticed the first one. Thanks. So, according to those images, the height of the cutplane in the family DOES indeed affect the representation of the family in the project. Correct?

right!
I don't know of anyone else that has seen this problem. I don't remember any posts here or on Augi. I just know this can cause problems because it did with me a long time ago.

I had made a quick test when you mentioned this before, but I did not see the effect in the project, but it is clear in yourimages that it does have an effect. Interesting.
