Dear All,

currently we are working on the project, incorporating plaza with underground parking. The plaza is to have hight differences up to 1 m and we need to create it in Revit.

Our consultant is happy to create terrain model for the top and every material surface, but i'm worried on possible problems.

To my mind, the only possible solution is either floor or roof element, placed over the structural slab element. It is ideal solution, as it is possible to modify the shape either of the top level or the whole object.

The problem is the plaza covering has double structure: insulation and moisture barrier on the bottom, and surface shape on the top. Modifying shape of the lower (insulation) level will make creating of upper level almost impossible. The target is to keep the hight of the upper layer, as it could bear live load of approx 36 t (360 kN).

What solution could You propose?

I think you need to describe this better.  I understand you want to slope / modify the top, so why do you want to modify the bottom?

You want to model this like you would build it.  If you want the suface to slope and uniform thickness, then model it that way.  If the bottom can slope with the surface, then it can be part of that element.  If the bottom has to be flat, than that would be suspended somehow and I would suggest that it wants to be a ceiling.

Ok, will try describe better.

The upper part for plaza has some structural layers and it must meet the minimal height requirement of 450 mm.

The bottom part, just above the parking ceiling slab, must have insulation and should be sloped, in order to collect the rainwater.

The middle layer - the infill between the load bearing layer and the water insulation - has both sloped top and bottom surfaces.

Ok, i think the best solution for now will be two-entity construction, where the bootom line of the top entity is hidden when plotting. The lower layer will slope up to 100 mm, so the accuracy of material take-off will be acceptable.
