Hi,
I am using Revit architecture 2012 and I have a building project with multiple linked files (building split into blocks plus furniture etc models) with shared co-ordinates. All are working fine except one which happens to be a furniture and equipment model. When sections and/or elevations are placed in either the host or the linked file the views do not corrospond with the cut line of the section or view line of the elevation, for example if I place an elevation within a room the elevation looks as if it has been placed in a different position some metres away. When the files are linked within each other using the shared co-ordinates they place themselves in plan and elevation perfectly. Has any one come accross this before or know what could be the problem/how to fix it? I a trying to create room elevations to show furniture/equipment layouts and this is making it impossible!
I have posted this on the Autodesk Forum but thought I would here as well as I have in the past picked up alot of useful tips.
Thank you
Dan

Do this file (furniture and equipment model) have imported CAD elements in them?
BTW - What do you mean "building split into blocks"? We are not CAD - we don't have blocks.

Hi - thanks for the responce, the furniture model has had Autocad links in the past but they have all been removed now. I appreciate we are not Cad! My appolgies if the terminolagy has confused you. You could define blocks as wings of a building, centrally, left, right etc but in this instance the main building which is a hospital is broken down into individual blocks A,B,C,D etc each of which are thier own model and are all linked together with shared co-ordinates

You are linking these items only by model, not by view, correct?
My concern about CAD is that I have seen some strange things with CAD imports in linked models. Not just linked CAD.
I think thise may be something you have to go to AutoCAD about.

You are correct, the models are linked not by views. I'll go through them again to make sure there are no Autocad elements just incase. Thanks for the responces.
