I get the following message when I try to open a central revit file. "Data in file needs to be manually upgraded. Please contact your Autodesk Revit Service Provider." The file has always worked in the past, and Ive tried opening it on multiple computers with no luck. Does anyone know what this means, and how I can solve the problem?

You can contact support and they may be able to fix the central file. Be prepared that it may not be repairable. Hopefully your local file is not any "different" (out of date) so you can use your local file to make a new central file. In general, make sure no one actually does work in the central file. Also if you have several contributors it is a good idea to create new local copies each morning and toss out the previous ones. Particularly if you and the others are not working on the project everyday. For example; you work Monday thru Friday, Mikey works on the project Wednesday and Mary on Tuesday and Friday. If you each keep your local copy throughout, on Friday Mary's copy is way out of touch with the project. Revit has to potentially coordinate changes she makes in spaces that might not exist anymore. Revit is very good at flagging these annomolies and forcing you to reload latest worksets but by then you have to figure out why, what wh...etc. So a simple habit of creating a new local copy each morning can alleviate this. Finally, save your work back to central frequently so Revit can reconcile your work with others more often and reduce the possibility of design conflicts.
