Hi, we are using the the worksharing feature on a TI over two floors. Everything is working fine by just having the two users working on different levels to control what they change. However, the section box is always needing to be checked-out. What did I set up wrong? How to set it up so each user can control the section box independently ..  . why is this even an problem?

My version currently is 2009 deployed to the users.

First, we usually never - ever - check out a workset, that really limits your users.  We only borrow elements - this is an easier process.

Except for personal, 3D views, I would think you usually want to leave your section box alone once set properly.  Why do you want all users to be able to change it?

I suggest each user 'duplicates' their version of the main 3D view and save to central. Then they can edit their own section box independantly by 'borrowing' as WW suggests. We too are in the camp of borrowing rather than checking out.

In REVIT 2009 'borrowing' may not have functioned so good (there have been significant improvements) as I recall. In which case you can just check out the applicable 3D views as you are currently doing.
