I am trying to bring imported CAD details up to Revit standards and one of the steps is purging confusing or unused lineweights/linestyles. I am about to go through each family we have and rename the object styles to its pen weight, so that in our template, with a bunch of details loaded, we only have linetypes 00, 01, 02, 03, etc...(in addition to the standard ones that Revit won't let you delete, like <hidden>, Heavy, etc.)
Is there anything I should be aware/concerned of before I undertake this?

Yes... All of the families that are already built using the standard category line types.
I think that you will find the standard Heavy - Medium - Thin and the standard category linetypes named similarly, a much better (and easier) practice. Of course you will want a couple more but don't do this like CAD.
