I have 3 buildings on campus. Some of the rooms #s in building 1 duplicates room #s in building 2. I want to create a room schedule and organize it by building type.  I'm thinking filter by workset would be most suitable b/c each of the 3 buildings were created on their own workset.

However, I can't seem to filter by workset.  Is there a work around for this?

You need to enter the building number in the rooms, and then filter the schedule by that parameter.

For example, if the worksets are named such as "building 1", "building 2", etc, you could select all the doors of building 1 and copy the name of the workset to the Comments parameter. Do the same for the doors of the other building. Then, filter the schedule by Comments.

You don't need to use the comments field, that might be useful for your regular schedule.  Instead, add a project parameter for rooms and doors and whatever else that is called something like "BUILDING No.".  Then filter schedules appropriately by this parameter.

Yes, of course. If you plan to use the "Comments" field for something else, then create a parameter exclusively for

the building name.

Side note for the moderators: I am noticing, maybe one or two weeks ago, that the text box where one types a reply,

this one, does not create the automatic carriage return to the next line of text, instead I have to hit enter myself to go

to the next line of text. Otherwise the end of the sentence goes beyond the limit of the box, on the right, where I can't

see it. Any help on that?

alf,

The problem must be your browser.  I use Mozilla and I have no problems - I don't have to add returns.  I would bet that if you type it all on one line, it will display correctly here.

What browser are you using?

Yes, if I type all in one line, it will display correctly after I have submitted the post. But when I am typing, like...........now,

the rest of what I am typing goes beyond the right edge of the window, so I have to hit enter to force the carriage return..

again...
