I downloaded some of the Kohler products from Revitcity and they open as blocks. I can't change the material of these components. Does anyone know how to do this?

If they are a CAD import into a Revit family, you can change the material by the CAD layer.
Manage / object styles / imported objects / imports in families.

These are most likely imported from other 3D modeling programs like sketchup, and there's woefully little you can do with them regarding visibility.
Under visibility/graphics there's a button at the bottom called "object styles." Here, you can possibly control the visibility of "imported categories" (a tab at the top) and then expand "imports in families."
This is a list of the materials and line types of imported objects. CAD, family, etc. It's hard to tell what names correspond to what objects, but anyway... here you can change the line types and colors, and possibly assign materials in the bar to the right.
edit: If only my touch typing were a little faster I could be a first responder some day...

I dont know how they were created all I did was search for a sink and faucet on revitcity and downloaded one of the Kohler products and they open as one solid item and cant be modified. Try downloading one of them and figure out how to add materials if you could? I do not know if they are a CAD import or not I just downloaded them from revitcity.
