I've been looking for a way to have my topo render simply as a color, with shading (for ease of photoshopping). Can't seem to find anything. Maybe I'll just have to use plastic and bump up the sample dimensions to something huge?

A material of any kind can be applied to anything....No need to bump anything.

You can replace the render image with any random jpg of your choice from your desktop or wherever. click the file path below the render image tile. If there is no render image file, pick and modify a new material, from the Misc. category, perhaps.
