Hi there,I working on a project where I have to build a family house using shipping containers. I downloaded a shipping container in revit and i inserted it in my building model. but on the plan view  and section, revit seem not to be able to cut through. I am using Revit 2012. How do I go about it ?thanks  in advance.

Because the category of the family, there are Cuttable and non-cuttable families, check that in your HELP menu.

You need to 'Open' the container family and see what 'category' it is, investigate what it's made of and the visibility settings  like Ty said but I have a funny feeling, based on your notes, that this is not a real REVIT family but an old AutoCAD block that someone converted to a REVIT family. In which case it will never behave properly. You may have to create your own container REVIT family from scratch if you have to.

Are they really making houses out of old containers ? I do see alot of those 'tube' type residential structures so I guess it's not a far leap to the container design. Do they just punch out the ends to get day light in ??
