Hi!

A company delivering mechanical equiptment to a hydro power plant we're projecting in Revit has drawn their equipment using the 3d-program NX. We would like to import their 3d-models into our Revit-model, but haven't found any common supported file-type that gives any success.

They have tried importing to .dxf which we can import, but that gives us only a wireframe model.

Do anyone have a suggestion to how we can solve this problem smoothly? Either by a 3d-converter by some sort, a better common file-type or a way to make solid objects from the .dxf-file.

You need to convert that MESh to a SOLID (ACIS).

I don't know your autocad version but try "Convtosolid" command to convert that mesh to solid.
