i've set up a default template to have just some basic wall types with the idea being that i could load specific wall types later when i decide what type of wall i want to use. i can't find anyway to load a wall family. surely i'm not supposed to know every wall type i'm going to use at the beginning of a project or junk up my default project with every possible wall type. please tell me there is a way to store the different wall types in the library and load them in as needed. (same goes for roofs and other 'system families)

I load our defaul templates with just the basic walltype, stairs, ceilings and roofs. The idea being that they can be placeholders until you define or load more specific types of each into the project. I then have seperate projects in our standard network location for each of the family types of walls, stairs, railings, roof, ceilings etc. If you need a new wall type you open up the walls project and cut and paste the sample 10 foot chunk out of walls into your current project. You can also use "transfer project standards" to accomplish this, but you might get more than what you were really after such as all walls out of your walls project rather than just the one or two yu need.
