Hi there.  I am currently using Revit 2012.

If anyone can help me out with the following issue, it'd be greatly appreciated.

What I am trying to do is create a curved wall that also slopes up. (refer to attached) I have tried

  • Creating a basic wall and editing profile
  • Creating an In-Place mass and trying to sweep a void along the path
  • Following revit help steps to try and create an odd shaped wall

I have not been successful in finding a solution.  I do know that somewhere in Revit it will allow me to do this, but I am just having trouble finding it.

If anybody can help it'd be greatly appreicated.

Thanks in advance.

I have just discovered the method of drawing a reference plane and attaching the wall to that, however I am still wondering if there is a way to create a spline curve and attach the wall to it? Rather than just a straight edge finish.

Thanks again

You cannot edit the profile in a curved wall.

You have several ways to cut that wall like you want:

- Goto an elevation/section view, create a ref. plane and use the "cut geometry" tool to cut the wall, if you delete the ref. plane the wall goes to original form.

- In plan view create a ref. plane near the wall, select that ref.plane to be your work plane, go to an elevation or section view then create an in-place family in Wall category and create a extrusion VOID, use again the "cut Geometry" tool to cut the wall with the void.

- Create an IN-PLACE in cat. Wall then create a "Swept Blend" void, select the curved path and create two profiles, here you have another thread about this laspt process: http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=27094

Hope this help.

Apologies for the late reply Typhoon.

Thanks for those suggestions. In the end we just used the straight edge in "Attach top of wall to reference plane" instead of having that curved elevation.

Thanks again.
