i am collaborating with another firm and have their model linked into mine.  they have setup unique worksets in their file so that i can manage elements.  in all VV settings i can see these worksets and have actually turned off the ones i wanted to.  the problem is that the elements/ worksets are still visible.  when i click on the linked model elements the property dialog box tells me that its on one of my host file worksets.

how do i get their linked file off of my workset and just behave like it should.

this reminds me of acad x-reffing with the wrong layer current, but i thought REVIT didn't do that when you link a file/ model.  i do not see any options for this and it is my understanding that the linked model elements should just be on their correct worksets...not mine.  any help is appreciated.

The file behaves correctly and - No - the linked file element is not on your workset but the linked file is.  The linked file's worksets are controlled separately through the VG settings - Revit Links tab.
