I ahve a very large and relatively flat site where almost all of it will be asphlat for parking. I am just a tech drawing the dealership so I have to make it as to the specs of the dealership. I modeled the existing site with ease but I am running into problems when it comes to adding the parking with the new slopes and located catch basins.

I am using a separate file to model the site at the proper elevation and am referencing the 2 buildings into it. The largest problem I am having is with the asphalt and the curbs. I used a floor at level 0 and changed the points to the proper elevation so I could take proper spot elevations off it. I then added curbs to the edges via slab edges. Now that I am varying the heights of indvidual points to get drainage I am running into technical issues since revit thinks I am dumb for trying to do it this way.

Is there a better way to model 3d asphalt with my desired grading and a 150mm curb following that grade or am I better off just drawing this in AutoCad and call it a day.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

I am using revit 2012 but will likley upgrade to 2013 soon

I always split my topo surface and change the material to asphalt.  There will be no thickness but I don't care here.  I will add something in sections and details if deeded.

By splitting the surface, I can drop this whole topo portion the curb depth.  This results in a gap between the two topo's since they have no thickness.  No problem because I use walls for curbs.  I can edit the curb (wall) profile if I have to adjust the top for topography slopes.
