I am having an issue with creating a region color mask on my elevation. I am trying to paste a color on the elevation using the region tool, but it is not showing up on top of the wall. It works fine on other areas of the same elevation, but am having difficulty with relation to one perticular wall. I tried setting my working plane to the wall and then in front of the wall with no avail.

not sure why this is happening? any ideas?

thanks

Your terminology confuses me.  A split region on a wall is a model element and as such, you can assign a different material to that split region.  Is that what you are trying to do.  This is a model element - not 2D.

A filled region is a 2D element and can be transparent or solid.

It's a filled region that I am trying to apply to my elevation.

I am trying to apply color to a select area of an elevation for presentation purposes.

The only difference that I have discovered between this wall and the other walls is that it is a stacked wall assembly. could this be why I am unable to apply a filled region over this wall in my elevation view?

Model elements have no affect on annotative elements except "edit cut pofiles".  Just pick from your annotate tab - Region - Filled Region and select the appropriate filled region type.

AGAIN - This is not a model material but a hatch pattern that you have previously defined.  BTW - You can't place this where there is a masking region.

Sgray... not quite sure what you are trying to say either...

I created an elevation view with a stacked wall, created a filled region, and also a mask region. Hopefully the picture can help you figure out what you need to do.

As WW said, if you are trying to draw a colored/hatched region where you have already placed a mask region, you will not see it- which is the only reason I could see you having this issue based on the info you gave.

Thanks for the help guys.

I I'm not using a mask over a hatch, however I have edited this wall using the profile edit command in order to cut a notch out of it.

I saw in WWHub's post that "edit cut profile" has an effect on this command.

Is this what the issue is? and why my filled region is not working over the wall?

Experiment on your own ... try several different things.... opaque filled regions / masking regions.... over model and detail elements.  This is the best way to learn.
