This is annoying. If I click twice on somthing like a text note too quickly it automatically opens the family of whatever it is that I clicked on. Please tell me there is a way to turn this off!

You must not be clicking on a simple text note. Instead, you must be clicking on material notes or similar. I don't think you want to turn this off and I hve never seen where you can.

Well it seems to be all the families, furniture, plumbing, doors, NOT text notes, but tags. Just annoying and slightly inconvenient. Especially when I need to go through and change a lot of room names or door tags.

Sorry I see you are on 2013 - I miss read that the first time. Yes, this is a new feature in 2013 and I had not seen this earlier. I can not find a way to disable this "feature?".

I really like the new double click feature to open a family. There is a sufficient difference between a click . . . . pause . . . . , click and a double click for me. The old click . . . pause . . . . . click has not changed at all from what I can tell. I have been double clicking families to edit them for 3 releases. My 2 cents.

Thanks guys, we jumped from 2011 to 2013. I never noticed it on '11. Oh well. Thanks for the help. I am sure I will learn to work with it.

In regards to this matter, I was wondering if it's possible to ASSIGN a double-click to Activating a View in Revit 2012? Similar to how you would apply a keyboard shortcut for the process.
As far as I have seen I can't find anywhere that says it's possible, just wondering if someone knows a bit more about it?
Thanks in advance.

This is the most annoying feature in Revit 2013, looks like there is no way to disable it either. Can anyone tell how i can participate in beta programs? there is so much that still needs improvement in revit

Hi Aaron,
This might not be a Revit's issue.
Try to change your mouse "Double click" speed through windows "control panel". I adjusted to the level that I feel most suitable speed for my way of clicking.

This is a new 2013 feature. Far as I know it cannot be turned off and there has been many complaints.

Somehow I missed CDWDavids post. That worked because I normally double click pretty fast. I also got used to the click pause click.

It's a 'feature' in 2013 that cannot be disabled. I also learned to slow my click speed (annoying), but it's something that should have been optional. Fortunately, in 2014 it is optional. They also added a bunch of other double-click options, which is great.

Where have you been aaron? 2014 has been out for several months and there is even an update 1. Get off of 2013 - it's a bad release.
