Hi guys,

It's been a real pain in the curse today, trying to achive what it seem unachivable for now...

I want to have a room tag which uses filled region, two of them - one being black at the background, and one white in the front... so i get a "shadow effect". While in Family Editor it works fine (although there's no option of "bring to front" or similar... you can do a copy or draw a new one and it will be shown over tha last one...), it doesn't in the project.

Somehow the filled regions using solid fill (opaque by default) are being set transparent in the project environment.

I've tried with nesting, but you can only nest annotation family into annotation one...

strange...

I've attached the picture showing the problem.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

without delving too deeply into this, why don't you just make the filled region that represents your shadow the exact shape of your shadow instead of having it beneath the other shape?

@Revitape: Well, that was my thought as well, but you know that revit has problems with very small sizes... In this case i.e., the shadow is around 0.5mm or less thick... It's just strange that the tag with filled regions acts like this...

Anybody?

Well, at first I drew the shadow, then the white box on top of it.... got the same result as you.

So instead I just did that in reverse. White box, then shadow box on top. It looks bad in the family but looks right in the project.

Smile haha, great one! Another Revit bites the dust Smile Didn't think of that at all. It's strange that it works in this way, but it works. Thank you, much appriciated.

Greetings from Slovenia!  Milos

Back to this subject.

How would I get this box to have the drag arrows......like the island countertop family (i cant think of another family with this off the top of my head)?

Also, this would be great if it would work in a sheet.  Primarily on a Title Sheet where you might have some quick notes to add for the city reviewer. (you know, so he wont miss the info you already had in the drawings)
