Is there a way to do a material takeoff for walls that will be demoed.  I have an existing masonry building and will be punching alot of new opening into the existing walls.  I want to find the area of masonry that I will be demoing.  Is a material takeoff the best way to do this or is there another way that makes more sense?  Thank you in advanced for any help.

I drew a masonry wall in existing, added three 36x48 windows in new construction, then made a new Material Takeoff Schedule.  I added Area, Assembly Code, and Material:Area to the schedule.  Then, in the schedule view, I changed the phase filter to "Show demo + New".  This resulted in a schedule showing three items, each 12sf.  Try that and then play with it to what you want it to look like.  HTH
