Hi there,I'm currently modelling a bar and the bar top has me stumped. As the pictures below will illustrate i am trying to transition from one profile to another at the corner of the bar.

please refer image: goal.jpgswept blend seemed the obvious weapon of choice however when i attempted to employ this method, the resulting solid swings out in such a manner that the edge no longer remains tangent.

please refer image: result.jpg

Just to be clear i am trying to achieve the transition in a smooth manner (tangent to tangent) to show clients a reasonably accurate perspective shot.

I think you will have to do this in two stages with a profile at the miter (which which will not be a 45).

There really was no reason to model this as you did.  A simple flat extruded counter with a radius void for the edge would have been easier.  Then do the correct cut profile as detail line work in detail sections.

You don't understand.  Model it.  Don't use a swept blend.  You don't need to model the notch though.  Just what will show.  Mich be easier as an in place family with two seperate extrusions (or 2 sweeps) then use a void for the junction area.
