Does anyone know why the topography in Revit 2012's "rac_advanced_sample_project.rvt"is un editable? I can access the Edit Surface command, and it allows me to see the topographic points, but I am unable to change the point's elevation.

I don't have any problem in my sample project. Perhaps your methodology is wrong. Massing and site tab, pick the topography and select edit surface.
