Hello:

I am trying to standardize some details for our firm. I have created a detail component family which will be loaded into a drafting view to be used as a detail on sheets. Some items in the detail component need to be tagged or called out. I have created a annotation family (generic because you can't load a detail item annotation into a detail component family) and have nested said annotation into the detail component. Now while I am in the family edition for the detail component I cannot get a leader out of my annotation - is this not possible? Any work arounds aside from drawing each leader in?

Any help is appreciated, thank you much.

Usually one builds the components in the detail component template, loads it back into the project, then adds text and keynotes in the project, not in the detail component. If you really needed to have one or two pieces of text, there is a work around, but if you are looking to annotate your details, that is done in the project, not the detail component template.
