I created a door and window schedule resptively but it won't let me add or type any info in certain fields like "Material".
For the windows I need to write in for example "Vinyl". When I enter something I get the message "Enter a value or
formula starting with '='.
Drives me nuts, I use the the typal descriptions, everything is set to instance so it can be edited later.
Any suggestions?

Is "Material" a parameter you made? Or is it attached to the family? It almost seems as if it is looking for a number as opposed to text. If you added it via "Add Parameter" in the schedule dialog, I would erase it and start again. Make sure you choose "Add Parameter" (not "calculated value" and be sure to choose "Text" from the "Type of Parameter" drop down. Let me know if that isn;t the issue.

Hi LIZARD2806,
thx for the help...I just tried it on a different project and got the same issue...I went to Fields, edit...then I chose
"remarks" from the drop down menu...ADD...and I got the same problem...it won't let me type or write anything in.
Really strange...

As lizard says, the field is a number field - not text. Changing projects doesn't do anything for you. Whoever created this field assigned it to numbers so you will have to edit the parameter or create a different one.
Lizard also asked if this was a family parameter or a project created schedule parameter. It could be either.
