I am having trouble with the display of ground hatching pattern in sections.  I am using Revit 2012.

My sections show the hatching correctly underneath pads, but no hatching is shown in areas that are not underneath pads.

I have highlighted the bottom edge of all pads in the attached .jpg in blue.

It may be worth noting that I am using design options to show different topography in different views.

Any ideas on the reason for this behavior?

I think you erased the topo in those zones that's why you have that gap, use a "filled region" to fill that.

Filled region would definately be an option, but I would much rather have revit automatically fill in the ground hatch.  I have quite a few sections, and that would one more step that I would have to repeat in many places.  Also, I would have to remember that I had used a filled region and come back and update it manually if ever I changed the sizes/shapes of footings.

Aso to my deleting the ground hatch.  I definately haven't done that deliberately.  As you can see from the screenshot, the 3d view is still showing topography (the lighter colored concrete is still part of the topography).  Also, if I move the left sidewalk pad border left or right, the area that is not hatched updates to match.  This type of behavior leads me to believe that it really does have something to do with pads.

Thanks for the help!

Just an FYI

This is not a typical Revit problem - we have never seen this.  So the problem is either in your process or a corruption in your file or program.

Did you cut another section without using any template to see if the same problem occurs?  If it doesn't then you can start searching from there.
